Stan Friedmann Jill Newhouse Doug Volan

Our three directors have enjoyed many successful seasons at Mount Tom and continue to maintain its high standards and home-like feeling.

Doug Volan, Owner/Director, has been a camper, counselor, group leader and director at Mount Tom for over 25 years. His vision for Mount Tom's future has been shaped by his deep and personal understanding of how a meaningful camp experience can shape children's sense of well-being and self-esteem. Doug, an attorney at law, also serves on the boards of directors of the American Camping Association and New York State Camp Directors Association.

Stan Friedmann has used his experience as a Mount Tom camper and staff member for over 20 years to create successful and innovative educational and recreational programs for children, adolescents and adults. He's also directed camp programs for families with special needs. Stan is an award-winning author of baseball books for children and is the father of three former Mount Tommers.

Jill Newhouse has been the director of Mount Tom Day School for two decades and has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Her expertise and experience help provide the most positive and developmentally appropriate environment for our three to six year olds. She is the mother of three former Mount Tom campers.
